After numerous allegations of assault, abuse, and felony burglary, Ezra Miller finally speaks out revealing their plans to seek mental health treatment after acknowledging their erratic behavior in the recent years.
“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” the Justice League star told Variety in a statement. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”
The statement comes after a year where Miller has been the subject of much controversy. Earlier this month, Miller was arrested in Vermont and charged with felony burglary after homeowners reported several bottles of their alcohol were missing. Before that, Miller was arrested two separate times in Hawaii, once for disorderly conduct, and another time for harassment.
The actor made headlines in 2020 after a recording surfaced in which they appeared to be choking a woman outside of a bar in Iceland. Per the report, Miller pled no contest to a single count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and paid a $500 fine and $30 in court costs. The harassment charge was dismissed.
The series of scandals brings a big question mark to the fate of Miller’s most high-profile project, DC title The Flash. Per the report, a source close to the studio says that Warner Bros. supports Miller’s decision to seek professional help. The Flash is currently set for a June 23, 2023 release date.
